Alamogordo Music Theater- A Little History

The Alamogordo Music Theater was founded in 1958 by a group of local citizens who wanted to bring live theater to the community. The first production, “The Sound of Music,” was performed in the fall of that year. Since then, AMT has produced over 200 musicals and plays, including “Annie,” “Oklahoma!,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and “Les Misufffdrables.”

AMT is now one of the largest and most successful community theaters in the Southwest. Each season, we produce four major musicals and two special events. We also offer a variety of educational programs for children and adults.

Our mission is to provide quality theatrical entertainment and education for the people of Alamogordo and the surrounding area. We strive to create an environment where participants can learn, grow, and have fun while working together to create great art.

The Children’s Music Theater- A Little History

The Children’s Music Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 2006. The organization is dedicated to providing quality music education and performance opportunities for children ages 5-18.

Flickinger Events- What’s Coming Up

The Alamogordo Children’s Theater and the Alamogordo Music Theater are teaming up to present a production of “The Wizard of Oz”! The show will be held at the Flickinger Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, May 4th at 7:00pm and Saturday, May 5th at 2:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
